Meet Boobala Chandran Subramanian (Bob)

With more than two decades of advanced clinical experience, Bob brings unparalleled expertise, precision, and a compassionate approach to the diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. His career spans multiple countries, healthcare systems, and specialist roles, earning him a reputation for clinical excellence, innovative thinking, and leadership in MSK care.

Bob holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from India and has completed several prestigious postgraduate qualifications, including:

Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy (Keele University)
MSK Rehabilitation (Oxford Brookes University)
Psychological Counselling (Mumbai, India)
He is also certified in MSK Ultrasound Imaging (University of Essex), Injection Therapy (University of Southampton), and Advanced Imaging Techniques, ensuring his practice remains aligned with the latest evidence-based advancements.
He is also a non-medical prescriber gained certification from University of Highlands (Scotland).

Over the years, Bob has contributed his expertise to leading NHS Trusts as an MSK Sonographer, including Hampshire Hospitals, Essex Broomfield Hospital, Peterborough Hospital Trust, and Warwickshire Hospital Trust. He has worked extensively alongside orthopaedic consultants — particularly in shoulder clinics at Royal Berkshire Hospital — and has developed advanced skills in ultrasound-guided procedures, including barbotage for calcific tendinopathy and hydrodistension techniques.

Bob is also highly regarded for his non-surgical management of osteoarthritis, particularly knee osteoarthritis, offering innovative treatments such as synovial implant injections (e.g., Arthrosamid) as an alternative to surgery.

Beginning his career with the Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust, Bob went on to hold senior clinical roles with the Berkshire Healthcare Trust, Circle Health Group, and Healthshare Group, continually expanding his scope of practice and honing his expertise in advanced physiotherapy and diagnostic interventions.

In addition to his clinical roles, Bob has held senior leadership positions, including Associate Clinical Director and Orthopaedic Clinical Lead, overseeing multi-site service delivery, implementing clinical governance frameworks, and mentoring extended scope practitioners (ESPs).
